New Features for Winter 23/24
You've started checking mountain cams again, you just picked up your gear from getting tuned, and maybe your first plans for the winter are already laid out. It's the beginning of a new season, and that means it is time to announce what we've been busy building to kick off this season!
You know that excitement of every new ski trip, the counting down on days, and the roll call of your friends?!
Hello, Trip Planner - Plan your next trips with friends!
Add your upcoming trips to Slopes, and invite your friends to share in the hype. Trips let you keep tabs on the conditions of resorts you'll hit, who's coming or not, who else was invited, all in one central place.
The best part? For the duration of the trip "Share My Location with Nearby Friends" will automatically work for everyone in the group, even if they're not on your friend list. It is so much easier than having to share friend links between people for a one-off trip.
The "Rode With" tag will also work for all at the end of the day, to compare stats and brag about it at aprés.
And "Winter Memories" widget for your home screen will show a countdown to your next trip.
How does it work? More details here.
Interactive Ski Maps (Premium) - Introducing 3D Mode
With Slopes you can ride on Interactive Ski Maps at over 350 resorts worldwide. And now you can navigate resorts with ease in both 2D and 3D views.
The 3D view elevates the experience, literally and figuratively. It's great to know which way is up or down, identify and swipe across the peaks, but also spot those flat catwalks before it is too late.
Search on Maps
Looking for the bathroom, where to stop for a quick snack or the closest ski patrol hut? You can now search on the recording maps. For North American resorts we show on-mountain facilities such as restrooms, food, and, most importantly, ski patrol locations, even in free mode.
On Slopes Premium? Instantly find any trail or lift by searching by name, check the difficulty, the elevation profile for a run, the average time up for a lift, the climb profile for popular in-bound hikes, and other key stats.
All these features are available while recording, as well as anytime via the Resorts tab - for all resorts with the "interactive map" tag on the resort details screen (350+ resorts worldwide).
While Trip Planner is available from the start on all platforms, the Interactive Maps upgrade with 3D mode and the Search feature are work in progress on Android and will be released soon.
Don't forget to update Slopes to the latest version and let's make plans for winter!
